IGBO WANT TO COLONISE SOUTH SOUTH

Those Indigenous People of Biafra have a hidden agenda. Their hidden agenda is to declare Biafra and then go recolonize the South-South. They would go and within a question of less than one month they would capture all those South-South and colonise the oil fields that is the agenda of IPOB. If you look at the East, it is land-locked; they don’t have any serious minerals apart from coal. Even the geography and geology of the East is so poor that even to build a good house they cannot unless you build a house in a bush because it’s all bush, it’s all forested and that is why you find the majority of the elite Igbo are now half of the owners of the houses in Abuja. If the Indigenous People of Biafra are now saying that they want to have Biafra what are you going to do with more than three quarters of the Igbo who are outside the East? Those in Kano, those in Lagos what are you going to do with then? Will you take all those people back to Biafra? They have no houses to live, they have no means of livelihood. They make money outside and not in the East so you find that they are crawling into fantasy world. They were talking vaguely during former President Goodluck Jonathan administration but what is really happening is they still say that Nigeria is not fair to the Igbo. One, up till now they do not have an Igbo President.

I'M NOT SACK BY SUPREME COURT:SENATOR ODUAH

I was not sack by supreme court Oduah stressed, the lawmakers from Anambra state have not been sacked by the Supreme Court contrary to media reports. ‎``It is pertinent to note that this is a mere misinterpretation of the Supreme Court rulings and‎ should be disregarded in all entirety‎. ``The Supreme Court did not order the withdrawal of the Certificates of Return issued by the Commission. ``It did not hold that the faction of the PDP had the right to sponsor candidates for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). ``It did not equally authorise the Commission to substitute our clients with the individuals whose names were on the list improperly allowed by the Commission, ``Series of judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria states that it is only the National Executive of the party that has the vires to sponsor candidates,” she said. Meanwhile, the solicitors to the nine lawmakers allegedly sacked, have written to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to also fall into the folly of misunderstanding the judgment. The letter signed by the lawmakers urged the commission not to allow itself to be misled by its legal department just as it was initially misled to accepting the list presented by the state chapter of the party. The lawmakers stressed that separate rulings of the Supreme Court including that of Jan. 29, upheld that only the list submitted by the National Executive Committee was valid. ``This correspondence is aimed at setting the record straight so that your good self will not again be misled by your legal department into unjustifiably occasioning an unnecessary confusion in the process.

2.29M SCAM WITNESS: THREAT TO LIFE EFCC ALLEGES

A witness brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to testify against former Governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim yesterday told Justice Adeniyi Ademola that his life was in danger. Ohakim, who was Imo State governor between 2007 and 2011 is facing a three count charge of money laundering arising from his alleged purchase of house 60, Kwame Nkrumah Street, Plot No 1098, Cadastral Zone A04, Asokoro District, Abuja with cash payment of dollar equivalent of N270m in November 2008. He was also accused of failing to declare the property as part of his assets when asked by EFCC. The prosecution said the offences bordering on cash payment of N270m violated section 15(1) (d) and section 14(1) (b) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2004. At the resume hearing yesterday, prosecution counsel, Mr. Festus Keyamo said the EFCC witness, Mr. Abu Sule, who had testified before the court on how he allegedly helped Ohakim to acquire the huge edifice, called him on Monday and informed him about Ohakim’s second son, Emeka, who came to the witness’ office at Asokoro and made enquiries about his (Sule) residential address. Keyamo said: “The witness called me around 9 a.m. yesterday that the second son of the accused person came to his office at Asokoro and made inquiries about the residence address of the witness. “He asked three people, one Itakpo, Okoh (taxi drivers) and one Architect Sola, which they refused to show him. He said he wanted to consult the defence, but that the matter was not the issue of counsel to counsel because the defence cannot protect the witness. “It is the court that can make words of caution to the other party,” Keyamo said. In his reaction, Okakim’s legal team led by Prof. Awa Kalu, SAN, vehemently opposed the allegation raised by Keyamo. Kalu said: “We want to register our approach to an issue that should have been settled somewhere. “I have no doubt that this allegation was meant for the purpose of destabilising the defence. When the court stood down, he had the opportunity to discuss the issue with either the counsel or the father of the son, but he didn’t raise any caution. “In African tradition, when a young boy misconducts himself, the attention of his parents should be drawn to it. “We find this issue very disturbing. It is on record that the PW2 testified on November 2, 2015 and only yesterday, the young man would go and find out the residence of the witness. “Since Keyamo refused to give the defence opportunity to investigate the matter, we urge the court to dismiss this story.” As tempers flared between both parties, Keyamo stood up and loudly said: “I will not sit down and watch him cast denting words against me. I will never treat the issue of threat to life in private. That is my position.” In his intervention over the disagreement that ensured, Justice Ademola said the issue ought to have been brought to his chambers. “Let us adjourn this matter till tomorrow (Wednesday) when tempers are calm at 12 p.m. “Having regard to what transpired in court, this criminal charge is hereby adjourned to January 27 for trial,” Justice Ademola said.

I WILL RESPOND TO YOUR LETTER FORMALLY-SARAKI

Senate President, Bukola Saraki,Wednesday, acknowledged receipt of a letter from former President Olusegun Obasanjo, drawing his attention to alleged corruption in the National Assembly. But Saraki, who said he was still studying the letter hinted that he would formally write a reply to the former president in no time. This came as the Senate spokesman,Aliyu Sabi, feigned ignorance of the presence of the letter in the Red Chamber just as he said he would not comment on it until his attention was drawn to the letter. The Senate President, responding to inquiry on whether he was in receipt of the letter, confirmed that the said letter was presently on his table. Speaking through his Special Adviser,Media and Publicity,Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki, insisted that he would officially communicate the former president on the issues he raised. “The Senate President has acknowledged that he has received the letter and that he would formally communicate the former president,”Olaniyonu said. But the Senate spokesman, Aliyu Sabi claimed that he was not aware of the said letter to the Senate President. He, however, said if there was to be a letter, it would be communicated to senators through the Senate President, adding that he would speak when such was done. “As far as I am concerned, I am not aware of any letter to the Senate President from the former president,so I cannot comment on what I am not aware of. “We have a constitution on this country and any communication to the National Assembly must follow the laid-down rules,so like I said, when I am informed of the said letter,I can now speak,”he told Vanguard. The former president is said to have written the National Assembly, through the Senate President,Bukola Saraki, accusing the lawmakers of corruption, impunity and greed. The former president specifically accused the lawmakers of fixing and earning salaries and allowances far above what the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, approved for them.

APC SEEK BAYLSA HOUSE SPEAKER REMOVED

The all progressive party (APC)Baylsa state said it took public outcries and efforts of whistleblowers, including the legal team of the state APC, to unearth the illegality perpetrated in the House. It called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the Speaker for contempt, adding that Benson should be convicted and committed to prison for disobeying court order. The party also called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission to investigate the financial dealings of Benson within the period he disobeyed the court order. The APC said the anti-graft agencies should make Benson account for December and January salaries and allowances he collected including other disbursements he made against the provisions of the constitution. The party appealed to the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice to look into the Bayelsa situation in the interest of judicial integrity. Meanwhile, a High Court sitting in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, has ordered the APC and its state Chairman, Mr. Philip Shekwo, to pay a team of six lawyers the sum of N92.7m being the balance of professional feels for defending the party at the 2014 Local Government Election Petitions Tribunal. The APC lawyers, led by Mr. Shikammah Sheltu, had sued the party for its failure to pay the balance of their professional fee. Delivering the judgment in Lafia, Justice Umaru Dikko, said the case was introduced under the undefended list procedure in line with Order 15 Rules 4 of the state High Court Civil Procedure Rules 2010. Justice Dikko, however, maintained that the APC was provided with all the basic court processes and could not respond accordingly by serving a notice accompanied with an affidavit to state its defence. The judge granted the plaintiff relief for the defendant to pay 10 per cent interest on the judgement sum from the date of delivery till the sum is fully liquidated.

OLISEH UNHAPPY WITH SUPER EAGLES DEFENDER

SPORTS Nigeria’s head coach Sunday Oliseh has said their last Group C game against Guinea in the on-going Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) will not be an easy task. “I personally rate Guinea highly because they are a good team. We shall need to be at our best to be able to get a good result so that we top the group,” Oliseh told AfricanFootball.com on Friday. Tunisia held the Super Eagles to a 1-1 draw on Friday in a game played at the Nyamirambo Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda. Oliseh said although he is happy with the attitude of his players, he will need them to be more focused and hungry against Guinea when they face-off on Tuesday. Oliseh said although his team settled for a draw against Tunisia, he was happy with the performance of his players. “We need to be a little tighter at the back because the kind of goals we have conceded in the tournament are all because of some lazy movement,” he added. He said he will continue to ring chances in the team because it is the best solution in such a tournament. “We need to expose our players as much as possible,” concluded the coach. The Super Eagles and Guinea will have to travel 144km to the Rubavu District where their last group game will take place, while Niger battle Tunisia in the other group game at the Nyamirambo Stadium on the same day.

ARSENAL ON THREAT :EPL CHASE

All attention today will no doubt be focused on the Arsenal, Chelsea EPL clash at the Emirates. Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger says his side must be prepared to battle Chelsea striker Diego Costa. Costa was at the centre of controversy in their last meeting earlier this season as his first-half scuffles with Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel eventually led to the Brazilian being sent off for retaliating. Gabriel’s red card was later rescinded, but the defender was given a one-match suspension for failing to leave the pitch quickly enough, while Costa was slapped with a three-match ban and both clubs were fined for not controlling their players. “We have to be prepared for a battle because Costa gives you a fight. After that, it’s down to the referee,” Wenger told British media. “We have to focus on our performance. It’s another game where people look at us and see how we behave. “It will be an intense game, as usual in the Premier League. Overall, I think because of the qualities of the players on the pitch and what is at stake for both teams, it will be a very intense battle.” Costa seems to have recovered from his slump, having scored five goals in his last five appearances in all competitions for champions Chelsea, who are 14th in the table after 22 games. Talking about yesterday’s games, Nigerian international, Odion Ighalo rediscovered his scoring touch as his 14th minute strike saw him net his 14th EPL goal of the season as Watford managed a 2-1 win over struggling Newcastle. The win is the first for the Vicarage road landlords in six games. Manchester United playing at home suffered a humiliating defeat in the hands of Southampton with fans of the club calling for the immediate sack of Luis Van Gaal. In fact the fans at the Man United theatre of dream-Old Trafford booed the coach as he made his way out of the pitch. Elsewhere at the Kings Power stadium, team of the season, Leicester returned to the top with an emphatic 3-0 bashing of Osaze Odemwingie’s Stoke City.

EX-NIGER DELTA MILITANTS ABSOLVE THEMSELVES,TOMPOLO

Former creek militants from six Niger-Delta states yesterday dissociated themselves from the renewed bombings of oil and gas installations in the region as recently experienced in Delta State. They insisted that none of them including Chief Government Ekpemupolo, better known as Tompolo, was involved in the recent destruction of oil installations which has reduced electricity supply by over 600mw and has already led to the shutting down of Port Harcourt and Kaduna Refineries. The attack on the pipelines began shortly after a high court issued a bench warrant on Tompolo after failing to appear to answer charges of money laundering and fraud leveled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali has already led a team of Defence chiefs to the site of the pipeline sabotage in Warri South, Delta state and vowed to deal with those behind the attacks. However, the repentant Niger Delta warlords, under the aegis of the Leadership Peace and Cultural Development Initiative, LPCDI, blamed the act on unknown criminal elements bent on causing disaffection between the region and the Federal Government. Making this denial in a statement signed by their leader, Chief Reuben Wilson, popularly known as General Pastor, the group said they were ready to partner with the government to arrest and prosecute the perpetrators. According to him, “What happened was not carried out by ex-militants. The world should not label the ex-militants with evil deeds. These attacks were carried out by criminal elements. “Some people claim Tompolo did it but he has come out to clear himself. Tompolo is a man known for his words. If he is involved in such things, he will come out to say it and give reasons. But he is not behind these recent attacks.” Wilson, who noted that their investigations absolved Tompolo of the bombings, said no ex-militant leader would send anybody to blow pipelines in the region. His words, “We call on the Federal Government to key in the ex-militant leaders into the protection and surveillance of oil pipelines in the region. “The ex-militant leaders have important role to play with their knowledge of the creeks and water channels. Because we don’t carry arms, we expect that such security job will involve the security personnel.”

PDP DEFECTORS WANT TO KILL ME-TOMPOLO

Former Niger Delta warlord, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, has
alleged that there are plans by defectors from PDP in Delta and
Bayelsa states to kill him.

According to Tribune, Tompolo made the allegation in a letter he
wroteto President Buhari. ‎In the letter, Tompolo reportedly said the
PDP defectors, who are now members of the APC, from Warri South West
Local Government Area of the state had resolved to link him to the
renewed vandalism of oil installations in the state.

He alleged that the APC new comers were planning against him in
connivance with a lawyer attached to the EFCC who is also a member of
the APC. He also questioned the moral rights of the EFCC counsel
handling the alleged N13 billion land fraud in which he is involved
in.

According to him, the EFCC lawyer who is after him was doing so
because he (Tompolo) rejected an offer to buy choice properties from
him.
"The crux of this letter is to let you know that they are dubious,
mischievous, desperate, pretentious, manipulative and corrupt,
therefore they do not share the same vision and mission with you as
well as do not believe in good governance," he stated.
